Teaching Assistant SEND 1:1
17 1/2 hours per week
Band 2 (mid-point)
We are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a positive attitude to support a child in school with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. They will also be required to support other children as when needed, across the school.
The successful candidate must be able to stay calm under pressure, and have the ability to use their own initiative when dealing with emotionally and physically challenging situations. They must be flexible and willing to undergo training and attend regular meetings.
The successful applicant will:
Hold successful experience working with children in a school/early years environment
Have experience working with children who have complex needs such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Good reading, writing and maths skills (GCSE A-C or equivalent)
Be resilient and have a positive "can do" attitude (initiative, flexibility, proactive approach) and can encourage children to achieve to the best of their ability.
Have a calm and caring manner along with a good sense of humour.
Be able to work as part of a team under the direction of the Class Teacher/SENCo.
