Group 3, NOR 295 + 44 PT Nursery Places

Required January 2018

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our long standing Headteacher, our children, staff, parents and Governors are looking

for an inspirational and exceptional leader to take our school from a Good Ofsted rating towards Outstanding.

Spring Meadow Primary School & School House Nursery provide an active, lively and stimulating environment, which is expanding

through an increase in pupil numbers and has an above average proportion of children that are eligible for the pupil premium.

Our Nursery, which only opened in 2015 is proving very popular and the next phase of expansion will increase the number of

sessional places from 44 to 84 in Autumn 2017.

As a school we work in partnership with children, staff, parents/carers, Governors and the community to provide a happy,

caring, safe and stimulating environment, where children feel valued, secure and have a sense of belonging, which in turn

leads to quality outcomes for all.

Partnership working is key and the school also provides successful leadership to the Harwich Educational Partnership (HEP),

which consists of all primary schools in the Harwich area working alongside the local secondary school to share skills,

knowledge and values.

We are looking for a talented, creative and energetic new Headteacher who can lead, guide and inspire us on the next stage of

our journey. This position represents an exciting opportunity for a creative and innovative Teacher, who has aspirations to lead a

successful school, whilst building on the firm foundations laid by the previous Headteacher, children, staff, parents and Governors.

You will have:

  • leadership and management skills, coupled with the ability to demonstrate a clear vision of excellence for the future of our school
  • an engaging personality enabling you to communicate effectively and with clarity to children, staff, parents and Governors
  • a commitment to providing outstanding pastoral care, promoting excellent attitudes to learning, whilst nurturing and supporting all children
  • the ability to motivate, challenge and support work as part of an organised team
  • a drive to develop and deliver strategic thinking and planning to ensure the best possible attainment for each and every child
  • a desire to build upon the school's significant achievements to date and obtain an Outstanding Ofsted rating
  • a continual improvement mind-set with the confidence to consider and explore improvement initiatives and opportunities that may arisebothwithin the school and nursery as well as the wider HEP partnership, whilst also taking account of the ever changing educational landscape
  • the energy to build effective and sustainable relationships with parents, carers, guardians and families.

We can offer:

  • happy and enthusiastic children who are eager to learn and develop to their full potential
  • dedicated and talented teaching and support staff, who will work with you to deliver your strategic vision
  • a supportive, proactive and organised Governing body that is dedicated to continually driving up and improving standards within our school, whilst also providing a good level of challenge
  • an opportunity to work strategically with a close network of strong local schools to develop your leadership skills within and beyond the school.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and you will be most warmly welcome to spend time being shown round by one

of the Governing Body, so please feel free to contact the school office in order to arrange a suitable appointment.
