Job Vacancy: Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant

We wish to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to work 1:1 with a pupil in Key Stage 2 with Autism. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join us, where you can make a real and lasting difference.

We are looking for a candidate with the passion and commitment to help drive our school to become good in all areas. You will join a strong and supportive team of staff who are committed to providing the best possible learning opportunities for its children and staff. Candidates must be committed and passionate about improving the life chances of every child.

Ideal candidate will:

· have a track record of being an excellent practitioner
understand what good support is and how this looks in practice

· be an excellent communicator and team player, with the ability to lead, motivate, enthuse and support others

· have skills/ experience of working in partnership with other LSA's and teachers

· be firm, kind, patient, consistent and approachable

· be friendly - ready to join in and engage with learning with the children

· ideally have experience of supporting an individual child with specific needs in class, small groups and in 1:1 situations

Position: Learning Support Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

Salary: £15,507- £16,481 pa, pro rata (Band 2 point 11 to 14)

Hours: 30 hours per week - 8.50-3.20 (30 minutes break)

Start Date: April 18th 2017

Fixed- term contract: Until 31/08/2020 (or time pupil is at the school)

Closing date: Friday 24th February 2017

Interviews: Week commencing 6th March
