We are looking to appoint an experienced administrative assistant to join our enthusiastic and supportive team who are committed to the highest educational outcomes for the children in the school and understand the school office plays a critical role within the school.

It is a busy, demanding but extremely rewarding role which would suit an organized and caring individual, as they would undertake reception and clerical duties as well as administer first aid, therefore previous experience of working in a school office is desirable.

As you would be the first point of contact for all parents and visitors, the successful candidate will need to have a warm, friendly and approachable manner combined with an ability to work efficiently to meet specific deadlines and adapt to ever changing circumstances.

The role is made up of 30 hours over five days, Monday to Friday, term time only, and requires the successful candidate to be able to work these hours between the hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm.

We will need the candidate to start as soon as possible in September.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought from the successful candidate.

Information about the School

St Luke's is at the heart of the village of Tiptree and is easily accessible from the A12 - a short commute from both Colchester and Chelmsford.

St Luke's Church Primary School was founded in 1863 to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England.

Following the reorganisation of many Church of England schools in the 1950's, St Luke's became a controlled school. This means that some of the governing body is drawn from the foundation, representing the Church of England, and the rest is made up of County nominated and other lay people.

The school occupies the site immediately adjacent to St Luke's Church, and this reinforces the feeling of community that we share.

Further information about our school can be found on our website: www.stlukeschool.co.uk

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
