LEAD TEACHER - AUTISTIC SPECTRUM CONDITIONS (ASC)

MPS/UPS, London Fringe Pay Scale + SEN2 £4,075 + TLR2a £2,613
Required for September 2016 or Easter 2017

The school has been chosen to provide a secondary enhanced provision for students with ASC in South Essex. The provision will provide support for up to 15 students in order to enable them to access mainstream provision. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead this exciting new venture under the guidance of our SENCO. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational practitioner who has proven experience with ASC students.

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is a school where students achieve well and are part of a strong, caring community. In 2015 52% of students achieved 5+A*-C GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, and progress in both English and Mathematics was above the national average.

Our school's progress was recognised by Ofsted In November 2014 when they stated, "The Headteacher is driving improvement and fostering a culture of high expectations and aspirations". Our students are our greatest ambassadors and it was found that they "…take responsibility as prefects, school councillors and house-captains. They wear their uniforms and their badges for achievement, regular attendance and commitment, with pride."

We are keen to appoint dedicated staff who are eager to support our students to achieve in all aspects of their school life and who want to be key contributors to our school's success.

We encourage visits from prospective candidates to meet members of our school community and to experience our school at first hand. If you would like to do this please contact Ann Pullin, PA to the Headteacher on 01268 474485 or via email or recruitment@bromfords.essex.sch.uk.

A recruitment package, including financial assistance and benefits, is available.

The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be offered a position subject to full pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Closing Date: 11th May 2016, midday.

Interviews: 19th May 2016

Information about the School

Our school is making rapid progress since its inspection in November 2022. A recent review by the Local Authority commented on the ‘sea change’ noted in students’ behaviour and the culture and ethos of the school. Our 2023 outcomes were the best set of Key Stage 4 results achieved by Year 11 students since 2016. Our Year 7 intake continues to be oversubscribed, with a waiting list.

Our school is a strong, caring community underpinned by our three core values of achieve, enrich and prepare. Our school’s culture is focused on the principles of high expectations and aspirations for all members of our community; actions and conversations, however difficult, are always underpinned by kindness; that we communicate and share success; that we value each other’s views and opinions; decisions are evidence based and student centred.

Our Governing body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicant will be offered a position subject to full pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory medical checks and 2 satisfactory references.
