SENCO/Assistant Principal required for April 2016

The Ockendon Academy and Studio School was rated as Good with Outstanding features in 2014. We are a high performing, oversubscribed 11-19 Academy which is constantly challenging itself to improve even further.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic leader for the role of SENCO as part of our Senior Leadership Team.
Our Academy is looking for a SENCO who is committed to promoting high standards of attainment and behaviour, inclusion and achievement for all. The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, and will understand the academic, social and emotional needs of students with SEND. They will be able to advise staff on managing these needs through quality teaching approaches as well as specialist interventions.
An ability to lead, motivate and inspire colleagues working collaboratively as part of a team is essential, as are highly effective organisational skills. The role requires effective communication and liaison with students, colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals
