The Governors are seeking to appoint a great professional to be a teacher of English at Passmores Academy. This vacancy is due to the fact that we are over-subscribed and still growing. This is an outstanding opportunity for a newly qualified or more experienced teacher. The pressure that is currently put on to core subject teachers is something that we are aware of and try very hard to ensure that we support staff in order that they best help our young people. We are an organisation that believes in the power of the 'carrot' rather than the 'stick'.

Passmores Academy is a highly successful and dynamic mixed 11-16 school located in Harlow, near to London and Stansted Airport. Since 2011 we have been in our fantastic new building and the facilities are excellent. We recently become an Academy Sponsor and will be taking on this role with schools from our primary family initially. This will provide excellent opportunities to work cross school and phase and to make an even bigger impact.

There are easier places to work than here, we work very hard and also enjoy each other's company. We are committed to doing what is needed to help our students and are dedicated to demonstrating 'unconditional positive regard' to all of the young people we serve. There is a one page document which portrays our beliefs in pictorial form as part of the application pack. We are committed to educating the whole child and nurturing what they can do rather than forcing them to do things that someone else thinks are important. In light of this all subjects are important and the uniqueness of each is celebrated.
