Mildmay Junior School is a three form entry Junior School with an Enhanced Provision for Hearing Impaired pupils. We are a rapidly improving school with teachers, governors, support staff and pupils fully committed to getting even better. Pupils are making good progress in all year groups.

Our Ofsted inspection in October 2013 judged the school to be Good in all areas and stated:

  • learning is well planned and structured, and pupils of all abilities are effectively supported. Excellent use of additional sessions and support is ensuring that pupils in all groups are now working at a higher level than in the past
  • a very strong feature of teaching is the high quality of relationships. Pupils clearly feel highly valued by their teachers and other adults, which leads to pupils having high self-esteem and very positive attitudes towards learning.

The Governors are seeking to recruit a Headteacher for September 2015 following the external promotion of our current head that is leaving the school in July. We are looking for someone who has the experience, ability and drive to lead, nurture and inspire high quality teaching and learning, and who will continue our school's journey to outstanding.

We offer:

  • a commitment to professional development
  • a positive, dedicated and highly professional staff team and governing body
  • pupils who have a love of learning
  • a happy, caring, supportive environment.

Please contact Mrs J Reardon, the School Business Manager, on 01245 250019 to arrange a visit to the school.

Information about the School

Mildmay Primary School is the result of a merger between the two long-standing and successful Mildmay schools that have provided primary education to the community for over 50 years. We intend to provide the highest quality educational experience in the area for children aged 3-11 years in order that, for generations to come, children can look back at their time at Mildmay with fondness, pride and happy memories; much like the generations who have gone before.

Mildmay Primary School is part of the Bridge Academy Trust: a collegiate and collaborative Trust, where, first and foremost, each school is a place of (high quality) learning, where young people ENJOY, ENRICH, ACHIEVE, ASPIRE. The core purpose is to provide high quality continuity of every child’s journey through education from 3 to 19, with a community and school-led school improvement approach and long-term sustainable strategy.

This Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and satisfactory references. Bridge Academy Trust welcomes applications from those of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnic groups.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
