Post Expert KS1 teacher with KS1 assessment responsibility

Salary: Mainscale +TLR

The teaching and achievement of children at The Wickford Church of England School is outstanding. In 2014 Key stage one pupils at Briscoe met national expectations at all levels and pupils are increasingly reaching higher levels. The achievement at Briscoe works as part of the HEARTS Academy Trust and is now a partner in the Wickford Teaching School alliance.

This is currently a class based post but may move to being a non-class position with additional leadership responsibility in September 2015, for the right candidate. The successful candidate will

Be an outstanding class teacher with a track record of successful outcomes for their pupils, who understands and cares about children with a desire to provide excellence in academic, social and emotional learning opportunities.
Be a teacher who values creativity and enriching opportunities to stimulate and excite learning within their classroom and the school.
Show understanding of how to use data to lever improvement in all areas of learning.
Lead and manage staff with resilience, humour, care and high expectations.
Join a strong senior leadership team which is supportive, knowledgeable and has high aspirations for themselves, the school, the pupils and families that they serve.
Provide outreach to other schools and support partner schools, as well as the schools that join the expanding Trust.
Take a role in the development of the teaching school and support its growth.
Support a group of highly committed teaching staff who are keen to grow and develop.
Have expertise in the curriculum including current changes.
Have expertise in new assessment procedures at KS1.
