The Trustees of Grove House School, Essex, are seeking a visionary leader to develop an outstanding specialist provision for pupils aged 9-19 with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Grove House School will be distinctive in its offer of a collaborative, classroom-based approach to the delivery of therapy. It will offer an innovative curriculum based on clinical research and best practice. Pupils will follow the National Curriculum and be prepared for nationally-recognised qualifications in Key Stages 4 and 5.

The Principal Designate will be required to devise, agree and implement a strategic operational plan that realises and sustains the vision for Grove House School. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to develop and shape this new school and in turn transform the life chances of young people with speech, language and communication difficulties in Essex.

The Trustees are currently working with the EFA to acquire a suitable site for the school, the location of which will be in an accessible location in Essex.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Successful strategic leadership and management experience
  • Wide experience of teaching, with a particular interest in working with SEN pupils
  • The enthusiasm, initiative and commitment to ensure that the vision is embedded throughout the school
  • The ability to build a collaborative and creative learning culture
  • Flair to inspire a positive culture of high achievement for all
  • Willingness to push boundaries with a determination to see through new initiatives and drive improvement.
