Graduate Teaching Assistant
Fixed Term Contract (length of term is dependent on funding)
33 hours, 30 minutes per week
Term time plus 5 training days
Band 2 £14880 - £16604 pro rata
(Basic rate at 44.3 weeks per year = £11138 - £12772 per annum)
Are you a University Graduate with a good honours degree in English or Mathematics? Are you looking to pursue a career in education? Have you thought about a role as a Graduate English or Maths TA?
We are an 11-16 Secondary school and are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants to support key departments as part of our SEN team. This role is a 5 day a week post and will require the successful applicant to support pupils both in groups and on a 1-2-1 basis. You should have excellent English / Maths skills, an A in English / Maths at A-level and a 2:2 degree or higher in a related degree subject. You will be required to work with pupils who require extra support to reach targeted attainment levels and should be confident in your own abilities and able to use your own initiative when required.
This role is ideal for recent graduates who having completed a Degree based around English or Maths, are looking to gain experience in schools prior to potentially starting a PGCE / Teach First / GTP course, or looking for a specialist and sustained TA role. You will be provided with an insight into the day to day running of an improving school, which possesses a committed and passionate teaching staff.
