LEAD PRACTITIONER: MANDARIN L 1 - 5
Required for September 2014, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Mandarin to lead and manage this subject specialism within our successful Languages Department and to lead the school's Confucius Classroom programme of supporting other schools in the teaching and learning of Mandarin. The school has annual visits to our Partner Schools in China. In partnership with Essex County Council the schools hosts the Essex Jiangsu Centre for Chinese Studies.
The school is looking for a teacher who has a track record of successful practice.
All students are introduced to Chinese in Year 7: from Year 9 Chinese is available as an option, leading to GCSE in Year 11. In the Sixth Form students may take Chinese as part of the International Baccalaureate or as enrichment.
In 2013 100% of our students achieved A* - C in Mandarin with 87% achieving A*/A.
