The Governing Board of the Alderton Infant School is seeking an enthusiastic, and dedicated SEND Coordinator who has a passion for supporting all learners to achieve the best possible progress to join our collaborative and compassionate and inclusive team in the Spring of 2023 for a Fixed Term period to 31st August 2023, part time (1 day a week).

Your opportunity

The fixed term position is to cover a vacancy that has been created following the resignation of our permanent SENDco, pending the appointment of a replacement under normal advertising and recruitment procedures. This will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to have a positive impact on the learning and achievement of our wonderful pupils.

The SENDco will have responsibility for leading, developing and managing high standards of inclusive teaching and provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will have the ability to innovate, plan strategically, monitor and articulate impact; to ensure the needs of pupils with SEND are fully met.

This is a role for an experienced, exceptional teacher and a passionate and committed leader, who has the knowledge and skills to have a marked impact on the quality of education and provision for our vulnerable pupils; working closely with our compassionate, friendly and supportive team. We would welcome applications from those who have completed the National SEND Award, or those who are willing to undertake an appropriate qualification such as the NPQ for SEND.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about and experienced in implementing current excellent practice for pupils with SEND. We are looking for an exceptional practitioner and team player, who enjoys teaching and being with children, has a desire to contribute to the development of the school and has:
● A passion for all children's learning and development;

● High expectations for all children and a desire to raise standards;

● High aspirations for themselves and a commitment to further development;

● QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree.

● Has a specialism in SEND, relevant experience working with and teaching SEND pupils

● Has a secure knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

● Holds or is willing to gain a relevant SENDco qualification
