Deputy Head of Care - Residential Unit (Pupils board Monday - Thursday nights)

Working hours: 37 hours per week, shift work Monday to Friday. Term Time (Plus Non Pupil Days).

Pay: Scale 8 (Points 25-28) Actual starting salary from: £25,800

Start Date:September 2022

We are looking for an experienced individual with experience in a residential/respite child care setting to help lead our new Residential Respite Site. The ideal candidate will be flexible, caring and follow a therapeutic approach.

As Deputy Head of Care you are expected to take responsibility for ensuring that the children and young people receive a level of residential care which displays a commitment to the philosophy outlined by Lexden Springs School. Our aim is to promote a positive, caring environment which focuses upon and addresses the needs of each individual child or young person.

Lexden Springs is an inspiring school where no two days are ever the same (but a smile is always guaranteed!) which caters for pupils aged 3 - 19 who have a variety of severe learning difficulties, including some with autism and/or challenging behaviour and some with serious medical conditions.

We pride ourselves in having high quality and enthusiastic staff that encourage our pupils to achieve their fullest potential academically, socially, emotionally, physically, morally, spiritually and aesthetically, enabling each pupil to grow in confidence, and able to participate in the wider community. We support our staff in doing this by offering a high level of training and development throughout their time at Lexden Springs and encouraging them too to also reach their fullest potential.
