School Cook

Pay Range: Local Government Scale 3 (Point 4-5)

Actual Salary: £16,441 - £16,770 per annum

Start Date: 1st September 2022

This post is 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and practical School Cook to join our well-established and successful team. The successful applicants will ideally have previous catering experience, be flexible, proactive and have a sound knowledge of Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and safe working practices.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

● Preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages to the standard required.

● To organise the receipt of food and drink from the main kitchen.

● Assist in the planning of menus and follow menu plans agreed with the Catering Manager.

● To manage stock control of all food and drink.

● To ensure that food production is sufficient for the service and also manage wastage within the operation.

● Introduction and promotion of new food products.

● To occasionally assist with special functions which may be outside of normal working hours.
