We are looking for experienced and enthusiasticindividuals to make a different to young people's lives by joining our team in the role of Learning Support Assistants (SEND). The post-holders will be providing support to pupils with high needs on a 1:1 basis. Please note that these posts are not linked to specific children, and our successful candidates will be deployed flexibly to provide support to different children depending on needs.

Our successful candidates must be passionate about inclusion and playing a key role in supporting our pupils to have the best start at school.

The successful applicants must have:

  • A positive approach to the role
  • A caring and flexible approach
  • Have a strong desire to learn for themselves
  • Be able to monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENDCO

A theoretical or experiential understanding of the ASD spectrum, speech and language development and restorative behaviour approaches, and experience of supporting pupils with sensory needs and speech and language needs would be helpful, as would experience in implementing, or a knowledge of, support strategies. However if you do not have this experience but you are the right fit for the role, full training will be provided. The role may involve providing intimate care.

The role is for 25 hours per week for the 38 weeks of term time only. The working hours are from 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to15:00 from Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone with good literacy and numeracy skills, and you must have a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at grade A to C. The post is paid at Scale 3, with an actual annual starting salary of £10,759.
