Following the sudden death of our long-standing Site Manager, St. Michael's C.E. Primary School is looking to appoint someone who has the personality, dedication and skills to take up this role.
The successful candidate would have overall responsibility for site safety & security; maintenance and management of the site; overseeing the work of others and occasional cleaning.
We are looking for someone with:
- A proven work ethic; ability to manage own time effectively to achieve tasks and work without direct supervision
- A knowledge and experience of relevant health and safety procedures, operation of cleaning equipment, cleaning agents and DIY skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to identify healthy and safety hazards throughout the school premises
- Good numeracy, literacy and computing skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and the confidence to take responsibility for managing the cleaning team
- Access to a vehicle and ability to drive for purposes of the role
There is also the potential for the successful candidate to have access to the house on site, paying a small rent to Essex County Council. If this is not required, then the candidate would need to live within a range of 10 minutes to enable them to respond to emergencies.
As the role is very much a practical one, the interview will consist of a chance to explore the site to identify, log and later feed back about tasks identified and prioritised.
Candidates with experience of a similar role are encouraged as are those for who this is a new opportunity.The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and satisfactory references.
