Tendring Primary School is looking for an exceptional Teaching Assistant, who wants to take the next step in their career and take on this key role as part of our friendly team. The successful candidate will work closely with our SENCo and class teachers to support children, with a variety of needs including, across the schoolneeds.
This varied role includes:
- supporting individuals and small groups in class
- delivering interventions
- running a lunchtime club
- providing some class cover
- supporting the SENCo with administrative tasks
- and providing a point of contact for parents and professionals.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- a good standard of maths and English (writtend and spoken) at least GCSE grade C or equivalent
- excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- the ability to work as part of a team, but to act independently if required
- the ability to be flexible and solutions focussed
- the ability to maintain records and develop systems
- knowledge of child development
- experience of working with children with SEND
- skills to work across all year groups
- at least two years experience working in a school
It is also desirable for you to have:
- Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification
- Experience of working with parents

Information about the School
Tendring Primary is small, popular school located close to the Suffolk/Essex Border, attracting children from a wide area across the Tendring Peninsular. We currently have 190 children on roll. The School is set in approximately a three acre site with original buildings dating back to 1896. The school has extended over the years to include new buildings and extensive outdoor learning facilities.
