Due to the retirement of the current postholder we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, practical and motivated assistant site manager to join our team at Great Berry Primary School. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to liaise with the site manager, premises staff and extended school community.
The position is for 25 hours per week 6am until 11am - 5 days per week.
Pay Scale 4 to 5 depending on experience (52.14 weeks per year)
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
· opening the school each morning
· supervising the cleaning staff
· managing the school site for the first part of each day
The successful candidate must:
· be practical, with good DIY skills
· be able to implement risk assessments and any recommendations
· contribute to projects and maintenance schedules
· communicate well with contractors, parents, carers and members of staff, as well as pupils
· have a clear understanding of health and safety and site security requirements including keyholding responsibilities
· have the ability to identify and ensure day to day general maintenance is completed to a good standard e.g care of the site, DIY, decorating and cleaning
· be flexible and able to manage their time and workload effectively, willingness to work additional hours where required
· able to work independently as well as a team with the site manager
· be a good communicator
· respect confidentiality of parents, staff and children
· have a sense of humour and pride in their job
