Learning Support Assistant within our Early Years Setting
Fixed term contract until 31st August 2022
Hours 31.30 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
08:30am until 3.15pm - term time only plus INSET Training days, as required at the discretion of the Headteacher.
Salary: Scale 3 pt 4-5
Start: January 2022
We are looking for a self-motivated, positive, caring and enthusiastic teaching assistant to provide support to an individual pupil with additional needs in our Early Years Class.
You will:
· work collaboratively with other members of staff and children
· demonstrate a willingness to fully participate in all aspects of school life
· have the ability to use your initiative
· show a commitment to professional development
The ideal candidate will
· have experience of working with younger children
· have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration
· be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
The successful applicant would be expected to:
· Be committed to providing a 'child- centred nurturing' ethos, collaborative team-work and flexible working.
· Work under direct supervision of the class teachers and/or the Higher Level Teaching Assistants and be expected to use their own initiative.
· Contribute to creating a positive, stimulating and purposeful learning environment.
· Work in partnership with other Support Staff (Teaching Assistants and Teaching and Learning Assistants and LSAs).
· Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil's progress.
· Have good organisation and communication skills.

Chappel C of E (VC) Primary School is a small rural primary school with 98 pupils. Children are organised into four classes, located within the shadow of the historic viaduct. Chappel is a popular school with a good reputation and a supportive staff and parents.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.
