Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Alresford Primary is a growing, friendly village school, with supportive and driven staff. Our children are inquisitive, polite and eager to learn.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated learning support assistant to join our EYFS team. The position is part-time Monday - Friday 8:30am - 12 noon, this is not negotiable. The position will initially be for 1 year, but very much has the potential to either be extended or made permamant depending on funding.

The successful applicant will have:

. Experience or interest in supporting pupils with a range of needs e.g. Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties.

· Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour

· Knowledge of successful strategies to engage pupils with specific needs

· Experience of the EYFS and/or KS1 curriculum

· Flexible and adaptable with timetabling and the daily routines

· Excellent communication skills

· Strong behaviour management skills

. You will be resilient and have excellent de-escalation skills.

. work as part of a team under the direction of the class teacher and Assistant Head/SENCO

. adapt questioning and instructions to the needs of individual children

. have a good standard of literacy and numeracy - have a good understanding of Development matters and EYFS framework
