We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and hard-working individual to join our Learning Support team. This position will primarily be to support a pupil in Lower KS2 with Autism but may also require you to be flexible and work with a range of children and small groups within the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
· Hold an A-C grade in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent).
· Have a calm, positive attitude and a 'can do' approach to working with children, especially those with additional needs.
· Be able to work as part of a wider team including with other Learning Support Assistants, Teachers and the SEND team.
· Be able to communicate effectively and confidently with a range of multi-agency professionals as well as parents.
· Have some experience of and a commitment to helping children with severe and/or complex needs to reach their full potential.
· Be flexible and able to use their initiative.
This role is Monday-Friday, 26.75 hours per week (8:45-3:05)
Information about the School
Baynards is a smaller than average sized primary school with a big heart! It is located on the edge of Tiptree village within easy reach of Colchester. We currently have a roll of just over 100 pupils who learn in 4 spacious, bright and well-resourced classrooms. The children are delightful and are very enthusiastic about their learning. Baynards Primary School is an active member of a consortium of over 20 primary schools in the local area and has regular contact with peers and colleagues in the group. We have a recently expanded Governing Body who are dedicated and strive for excellence for all pupils.
Teachers set high expectations for all pupils and those with special educational needs are supported at all times, both academically and socially. The Teachers are supported by the pupils who are proud of who they are and are keen to progress.
