It is an exciting time at Becket Keys Church of England School (Outstanding, 2014). We are working hard to build upon the exam successes of our founding cohorts, whilst also establishing our 6th Form into its fifth year.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced colleague to lead our wonderful Mandarin Department. As we continue to benefit from being part of the Mandarin Excellence Programme and the Confucius Classroom, this is a superb opportunity to take a role of leadership here. It is envisaged that the person appointed will be extremely enthusiastic about Chinese Mandarin and the potential for it to have a life changing impact on the 100-150 students who choose to study it here. You will need to enjoy teaching the subject to all levels and abilities as there are no entrance criteria for the subject. However, with eight hours of teaching per week our students are all on a trajectory to become very competent in Chinese and many of them are going on to take the subject at A level and beyond.
This post is a vital appointment in terms of maintaining the very high standards we have set for our school and specifically the Mandarin department. Every day, students are taught engaging and inspiring lessons and we are looking for someone to join our passionate and committed team.
