We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic caretaker to join our school team. The successful post holder will be flexible in their work, with good general maintenance and DIY skills, for example, decorating, carpentry, plumbing. Good communication skills as you will be liaising with contractors, tradesman as well as students and staff. Take pride in your work and be able to use your initiative.

Ideally you should have an awareness of COSHH, safe manual handling practices and Health and Safety. Prior experience within a similar setting is desirable, although not essential. Full driving licence and use of own car is essential as you may be required to attend outside of normal working hours.

Duties will include locking and unlocking the premises, be a primary key holder, attending call outs, basic maintenance and cleaning duties, maintain stocks of materials, porterage, operating systems, record keeping, legionella testing (training will be given).

The school has also a swimming pool and experience of swimming pool maintenance would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Start date 17th May 2021 or before if possible.

The hours of work will be 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and this will be required 52 weeks of the year (holidays to be taken in school closure periods) Working hours to be discussed, daily working pattern to be mutually agreed. Please note that this is a split shift position.

Example work pattern:

Monday to Thursday = 7.30am - 11.00am and 2.00pm - 6.00pm

Friday = 7.30am - 11.00 and 2.00pm - 5.30pm
