The children in the South Essex Alliance Multi-Academy Trust deserve the very best leaders and teachers, and we are looking for an exceptional candidate for this key leadership post. You will be part of a team supporting and enabling our schools to improve the life chances of the children and families they serve, through the Trusts strong vision of Learner First Education, and UNICEF's Rights of the Child.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highlymotivated CFO to help lead our successful organisation, with potential for improvement, to the next level and beyond. The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant with experience of leading a financial function for a large organisation with robust compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key duties include managing projects, promoting the effective use of resources, and promoting highest standards of business. They will ensure that the MAT has sound and appropriate financial governance and risk management arrangements, with active contribution to governance at all levels.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with responsibility for the proper financial conduct of the institution. As CFO you will provide advice on strategic financial issues, be responsible for financial management and reporting, and for the leadership and management of the finance and admin team. You will contribute to strategy and policy development to support the MAT's aims and objectives, will ensure the provision of management information for the MAT's planning and monitoring systems, and will ensure the completion of returns to external agencies.

The successful applicant will:

· Be used to operating at a senior level.

· Have appropriate professional financial qualifications and experience of project management.

· Have experience of introducing financial monitoring and auditing procedures for reporting to LSBs and Trustees who are accountable for the Trust.

· Be familiar with audit processes, dealing with auditors and making all the appropriate returns to the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

· Understand the confidential nature of this role.
