Welfare & Support Officer (with responsibilities for Safeguarding, attendance and pastoral matters)

· Starting salary: Scale 7 point 19 (FTE £25,481.00)

· Full time 28.75 Hours per week term time only (plus 1 week during the school holidays and additional Inset days as required).

· 8.30am to 3.15pm Monday - Friday (with an hour for a lunch break)

· Please note the job may require you to work additional hours.

St Mary's are seeking to appoint an Education Welfare, Safeguarding and Support Officer (with responsibilities for Attendance and punctuality) to support our school and its students. The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with children in an education, health or social care environment and have excellent working knowledge of child protection & safeguarding policies.

They will be required to implement successful strategies to encourage, enable and where necessary enforce attendance and improve persistent absences.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and will be required to liaise with outside agencies and work closely with student's families or carers.
