Cresco Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Trust who will:

· Provide guidance to the trust to ensure they work in compliance with the appropriate legal and regulatory framework and understands the potential consequences of non-compliance.

· Advise the trust on procedural matters relating to the operation of the board.

· Provide administrative and organisational support, including creating agendas and minute taking at all trust board and local governing body meetings.

· Ensure that the trust is compliant with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a newly created post within the trust. The successful candidate will be able to create their own systems and processes and shape how the role develops.

CRESCO Multi academy trust was formed in 2017 and consists of three Primary Schools from the Basildon area, Great Berry, Janet Duke and Noak Bridge. Across the trust we have 1200 pupils and nearly 200 staff. Our schools work together in a partnership where each school is treated as an equal partner and is able to maintain its own unique identity.

We believe that this collaborative partnership will have a positive impact and enable us to drive school improvement, help us to build capacity, develop our staff, secure the best financial value for each of our academies and support greater pupil attainment and opportunity.

There is some flexibility around working hours, however there is a requirement to clerk approximately 30 trustee and governing body meetings per year. Meetings typically start between 5pm and 7pm and will last approximately 2 hours each. All meetings are held within the Basildon area and the clerk will be expected to be in attendance on site. Outside of the meetings there will be preparation and follow up work required and a requirement to ensure the trust is compliant in other areas; this can be undertaken remotely from home or in school and there is some flexibility with regards these hours. During the current pandemic and in line with DFE guidance all meetings are being held remotely.

Please refer to the full job description and person specification, which are enclosed in this pack.

Cresco Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding pupils. There will be an enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks prior to appointment.

Visits to the schools are subject to current COVID restrictions but a virtual meeting can be arranged to find out more about the role and the schools. Please email hr@greatberry.essex.sch.uk. to make an appointment.
