An exciting opportunity for an experienced School Business Manager, or Bursar looking for promotion, to join the Senior Leadership Team of an established Infant/Junior School.

Hours: 37 hours per week - term time (41 weeks per year) plus 2 weeks

Salary: LGPS Scale 8 pt 25 (£29,577 pro rata and dependent upon experience)

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled, enthusiastic and motivated Business Manager to work at St Andrews Primary School. You will be expected to support the Headteacher and Governors in maintaining and developing the high standards of financial and business management within the school. This is a key role within the school and you will be expected to lead in all non-teaching areas and bring a strong voice to the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the operational side of the school line-manage administrative, site management, cleaning, catering and midday staff. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential for the role. The most important resource in any school is its staff and we attribute the success of our school to our committed and enthusiastic staff.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A sound understanding and knowledge of human resources, safeguarding and payroll
  • Sound experience of financial management and budgetary controls in schools with the relevant qualifications
  • Experience or a sound understanding of income generation strategies
  • Experience of IT and knowledge of accounting and management information systems, e.g. SIMS, FMS, Microsoft Office.
  • Sound leadership skills and ability to effectively line-manage staff effectively.
  • A high degree of motivation to be fully committed to working in a school environment.
  • A sound understanding and knowledge GDPR
  • A sound knowledge base of Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • The ability to work under pressure to deadlines, on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
