An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a popular, inclusive, one form entry VC Primary Church of England school in Marks Tey, North Essex. The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a new Headteacher who has a real passion for the education of young children and is committed to a nurturing and excellent educational journey for every child.

We have a passion that as the children, grow physically and mentally, they will also mature socially and spiritually, gaining a genuine respect for themselves, for each other and indeed for the whole of this exciting world; particularly in view of the challenging and ever changing environment, which we all currently live in.

St Andrew's aims to provide the highest quality of education, which is underpinned by Christian vision and associated values and is fortunate to be embraced by a supportive local community which includes staff, parents, governors, local church, parish council as well as the wider community. To support this, the whole community have worked together to produce a visual presentation of our mission statement vision which can be viewed in the attached kit.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the energy and enthusiasm to continue to build upon the school's strong foundation and help it realize its full potential by delivering an outstanding education for all.

Due to the current Covid situation, prospective candidates are only able to visit the school between the hours of 4.30pm and 5.30pm during the week.

To arrange a meeting contact our School Office Manager, Mrs. Heather Horner on 01206 210638 to make an appointment. If it is not convenient to visit us during the restricted hours, I would be happy to speak with you at the telephone to answer any questions that you may have about the school. Please ask Heather to pass on your telephone number to me letting her know when the best time to contact you is.

Information about the School

The school has a rich history of providing outstanding education to its students, and is committed to the values of the Church of England in everything it does.

Influenced by the Church of England's vision to educate for 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10), our focus on wisdom prioritises the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development of our children. We aim to inspire wisdom with a golden thread of deep knowledge, critical thinking, strong communication and exciting learning opportunities running consistently throughout our curriculum.

Ultimately, we want our pupils to leave our academy as knowledgeable, thoughtful and articulate individuals, who are equipped with the cultural capital to thrive in our evolving world and society. By working together, we ensure our pupils are supported and challenge to nurture a keen mind, a willingness to question and the ability to make right choices, so that they are prepared for secondary school and beyond.

As a proud Church of England school, our vision and all that we do is underpinned by our core and Christian values:

Respect and reverence – we have regard for the feelings, wishes and rights of others Caring and compassion – we display kindness and concern for others Cooperation and service – we work together Perseverance and endurance – we keep going until we achieve success Honesty and virtue – we tell the truth Responsibility and trust – we are accountable for all our actions

Our staff team and I would be delighted to welcome you and look forward to sharing what makes our school unique.

Lois Osborne, CEO
