Footsteps Learning Support Assistant
Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover
based at; Thameside Primary School, Manor Road, Grays, Essex RM17 6EF
Required: January 2021 until December 2021
Band A Point 1- 6 (depending on experience)
Actual salary £12,729.50 - £14,052.50
30 hours 50 minutes per week
8.30am - 3.30pm - Term Time Only (30 mins lunch break & 20 Coffee break)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Learning Support Assistant with the appropriate skills and qualities to take on a crucial role within "Footsteps" at our school. Footsteps is afocused intervention for children in KS1 with particular social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which are creating a barrier to learning within a mainstream class.Nurture groups assess learning, social, and emotional needs and give help that is needed to remove the barriers to learning. The relationship between the nurture staff is always nurturing and supportive, providing a role model for children.As the children learn academically and socially they develop confidence, become responsive to others, learn self-respect and take pride in behaving well and in achieving.
The successful candidate should be familiar with various learning and complex needs and have previous experience of working with vulnerable children. They will possess the ability to work one-to-one as well as with small groups of pupils. You will work in partnership with class teachers, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, codes of practice, school policies and procedures.
