The North Essex Multi-Academy Trust was established in September 2013 and currently consists of two secondary schools, a primary school and an infants' school.

The position will be at The Ramsey Academy, Halstead.

The Catch-Up Facilitator is a new role within the academy. The facilitator will work alongside academic departments and the learning support team to identify and work with students for whom gaps in their learning have been identified

Work will consist of a variety of tasks including some or all of the following:

- Assessing students' needs in terms of catch up- specifically related to literacy and/or numeracy skills

- Planning content of support lessons in consultation with other staff

- Withdrawal lessons of small groups of students for basic literacy/numeracy support

- Individual withdrawal lessons for literacy/numeracy support

- Monitoring of students' progress

- Reporting of progress to achievement boards

- In class support for individuals or small groups if deemed necessary

Experience of working in a school or with young people would be an advantage. Candidates should be educated to GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths. Graduates are encouraged to apply.

The position is term time only plus five non-student days (39 weeks) for 30 hours per week with an additional holiday allowance of 5.3 weeks per year. The salary is within the range Scale 4 Points 6 - 7 of the LGS pay scale. The actual starting salary is £13,206 per annum. (Point 4) depending on experience.

Contracts linked to student funding are reviewed annually and this is initially a one year fixed term appointment.
