Salary £21,589 - £23,836 per annum (FTE) based on experience
Actual salary £7,235 - £7,988 per annum (LGPS Scale 6; Points 12-17)
Part time position 15 hours per week (11.30-2.30)
Monday to Friday term timeplus 5 INSET days (39 weeks per year)
We are looking to appoint a lead First Aider to the school, to effectively take charge of the day-to-day health of the children in our school.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Basic First Aid training, including knowledge of how to deal with asthma, epilepsy and anaphylaxis (further first aid training will be available once in post)
- Able to provide excellent standards of care
- Up to date knowledge of current health and wellbeing initiatives
- Approachable, empathetic and patient
- Good administrative skills (e.g. maintaining pupil health records, healthcare plans and recording accidents)
- Strong IT skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in response to children, parents and staff
- Flexible and adaptable approach

R A Butler Academy is a vibrant school located in the heart of the market town of Saffron Walden and a core school of the Saffron Academy Trust. Although technically two schools, Infant and Junior, we work as one and are led by one Headteacher. We have 90 children in each year group with a capacity of 630. Our site is spacious and well-resourced. Staff are well supported and the school is committed to career development.
