Thank you for your interest in the post of Learning Support Assistant (Task Related - Child with Autism) at Tiptree St. Luke's Church of England VC Primary School.
Monday- Friday, term time only, 8.40am- 3.00pm with a 30 minute lunch break. This is a fixed term contract until August 2021. There is the potential to extend depending on budget.
The role is supporting a child starting in our reception class in September 2020. He has a diagnosis of ASD and requires 1:1 support to access mainstream school successfully. There will also be an intimate care plan in place; part of the role will require supporting this area of need.
Candidates would ideally need experience in the following:
* Using first/then
* Supporting the use of PECs alongside verbal communication
* Using sensory equipment
* Communicating successfully with staff, parents and senior leaders.
* Contributing to individualised planning as well as supporting inclusion with the rest of the reception class.
* Building positive relationships with children.

St Luke's is at the heart of the village of Tiptree and is easily accessible from the A12 - a short commute from both Colchester and Chelmsford.
St Luke's Church Primary School was founded in 1863 to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England.
Following the reorganisation of many Church of England schools in the 1950's, St Luke's became a controlled school. This means that some of the governing body is drawn from the foundation, representing the Church of England, and the rest is made up of County nominated and other lay people.
The school occupies the site immediately adjacent to St Luke's Church, and this reinforces the feeling of community that we share.
