Pastoral Support and Cover Supervisor
Salary and range: Thurrock Band D, £21,916.34 - £25,384.74 (actual salary)
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 08:00am - 16:30pm Monday - Friday
One hour unpaid break
43.8 weeks per year, term time only.
(Two week October half term)
Start date: September 2020
We have an exciting opportunity for apastoral support assistant and cover supervisorto join our new school. Thames Park Secondary School is a brand new free school that will be opening in Grays, Essex in September 2020, initially year 7 intake only increasing to 5 year groups within 5 years. Thames Park Secondary School will be a member of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust. All schools in the Trust work in equal partnership and are members of the Schools' Co-operative Society.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To be on call when needed to support children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- To deal with daily pastoral/behaviour issues at an appropriate level.
- Ensure that Welfare and Child Protection matters are passed to the Named Person in accordance with the school policy.
- Supervising classes and supporting pupils.
- Delivering cover work set by the class teacher.
- Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil's progress against lesson plans, conduct of the lesson. Keeping pupil related records.
- Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
- Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
- Provide additional support to teachers in classrooms, to carry out administrative tasks when not covering a class.
- Act as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and behaviour
