Post: Learning Support Assistant
Hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm, term time plus five non-pupil days = 39 working weeks.
Salary: Band 2, point 3 (FTE: £18,065) / actual annual salary: £12,963 approx
We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and dynamic Learning Support Assistant who can support and develop our children throughout their time in school.
Lubbins Park Primary Academy and Nursery is located in Canvey Island, Essex and is part of Epsilon Star Multi Academy Trust which was founded in September 2016. Kents Hill Junior School, located in Benfleet, Essex is also part of the Trust and this is also where the Head Office is located. It's a fantastic time to join us and be part of this growing network.
The tasks of a Learning Support Assistant will fluctuate, however, typical responsibilities will include:
- Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
- Work on differentiated activities with groups of pupils
- Liaise with the Executive SENCo/teachers to deliver SEN provision
- Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual needs)
- Working with teachers to monitor progress of pupils
A Level 2 Learning Support Assistant qualification and/or experience of working with children with SEND is preferred, but not essential. In particular supporting children with SEMH and ASD. The role is varied and will encompass working with a range of needs and abilities.

Lubbins Park Primary Academy and Nursery were lucky enough to be involved in a refurbishment during Summer 2018. It has been transformed with a new spacious foyer, corridors, providing more open space, with light and airy classrooms for our children to thrive in.
