HR Assistant

25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, term-time only)

Essex pay scale 3 (points 4 -5)

Actual salary range for post £10290 - £10692 depending upon experience

Newlands Spring Primary School (part of Attain Academy Partnership) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and friendly administration assistant to effectively undertake all aspects of the administrative support relating to Human Resources. The role will include

· Maintaining manual and computerised personnel data, ensuring staff personal record files are properly maintained and secured and that data is handled in accordance with statutory provisions and school policies

· Undertaking the administration related to the recruitment of staff.

· Producing and issuing Contracts of Employment

· Overseeing the induction of new support staff

· Maintaining the School's Single Central Record for Staff, Trustees, Governors, visitors and volunteers, completing the necessary documentation, issuing guidance and undertaking risk assessments and DBS checks as required.

· Managing an efficient system ensuring contract review dates are met e.g. salary increments, temporary responsibilities, and fixed term contracts.

· Responsibility for preparing all forms for submission to payroll in relation to staff personal data and salary information

· Assisting in the reconciliation of payroll.

· Managing an effective system of recording staff absence,

· Being the first point of contact for issues relating to staff well-being and responsible for managing referrals to the Occupational Health Services as required.

· Acting as the first point of contact for queries on personnel and salary data

· Assisting with employee references.

· Liaising with Teachers' Pensions and the Essex Pension Fund to ensure required data is reported accurately, any queries are resolved in a timely manner.

· Ensuring that all training undertaken by staff is recorded appropriately.

· Monitoring mandatory training requirements ensuring staff compliance

A full job description is supplied. Although based at Newlands Spring this role may require attendance at other venues within the county.
