Learning Support Assistants - 30/37 hours a week

Start Date 20th April 2020 - Permanent

Scale 3 Point 5 / Scale 4 Point 6

Actual Salarybased on 37 hours a week - £16,040 - £16,350

We are seeking exprienced and/or qualified Learning Support Assistants to join our wonderful team. As well as working within a KS2 class, the successful candidate will also be required to provide support on the School's 3G pitch during lunchtimes and also assist with after-school sports clubs. The school has state of the art sports facilities which include a 3G pitch, 25 metre indoor swimming pool and a large sports hall. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to train as a sports coach and/or swimming assistant.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Good standard of Maths and English, both written and spoken (GCSE grade 4(C) or above)
  • At least a level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools (or equivalent)
  • Extend children's learning and develop their critical thinking through skilled questioning
  • Confident in making judgments about children's abilities and provide insightful and useful observations
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate records of assessment
  • Should have creative ideas which can be contributed to the planning of activities
  • Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills plus be able to multitask
  • Demonstrate high expectations of achievement for all pupils
  • Ability to work as part of a team but to act independently if required
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks
  • Must have a warm and positive approach towards all children, staff, parents and carers
  • Good sense of humour
