Subject Leader - Computer Science/ICT
-MPR/UPR (salary negotiable) plus TLR 2C (£2836 current rate)
Possible Senior Leadership Team responsibility

Positive Progress 8 scores and above National average value-added scores for Computer Science for the last three years. Above National average for percentage of students gaining English & Maths grade 4.
The post is a permanent appointment and suitable for teachers seeking their first leadership position or an existing Subject Leader.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly motivated individual who will contribute to the continued improvements in provision and results achieved in recent years. The appointed person will play a significant role in contributing to the development of a curriculum, designed with the intention to challenge and enthuse students. They will also play a significant role in the future planning for the Department and expanding existing community links as well as forging new relationships both locally and nationally.
The Department currently offers a broad curriculum including WJEC GCSE Computer Science and OCR Creative iMedia. There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including a variety of STEM activities e.g. Computer and iMedia Club, Robotics - Microbits and bit buggies, Programming - using raspberry pi's and control components using biscuit boards, Photography and Video production including greenscreen, Audio recording and manipulation using Audacity and Lego Mindstorms will be shortly introduced.
The Academy is seeking to appoint:
- An outstanding practitioner and leader who is ready for the next step to further develop their leadership skills with ambitions to progress to Senior Leadership.
- A dynamic and inspiring leader to work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to enthuse students about Computer Science and ICT, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team within the Academy to provide an outstanding educational experience for the students.
- An individual who wishes to be innovative in the design and development of the curriculum and play a strategic role in the development of the Academy.
- A leader committed to the importance of Computer Science and ICT in transforming students' understanding and application of knowledge to raise their aspirations.
- A leader committed to giving students extra-curricular opportunities.
The Academy can offer:
- Strong support in personalised professional development as a Computer Science and ICT teacher and Middle Leader within a successful Curriculum Area.
- Support for SLE accreditation for suitable candidate.
- Opportunity to support the development of new teachers via Mid Essex ITT.
- Allocated computer suites equipped with interactive whiteboard and visualiser.
