We are looking for a new admin assistant for our busy school office. The ideal candidate will have a good sense of humour, have had previous experience of working in a school office and SIMS, and a good working knowledge of ICT including word and excel.

You will be first point of contact for parents and visitors to the school therefore a pleasant and welcoming manner is essential. Main duties will include, First Aid and assisting with general welfare of our children. Collecting and recording money coming into the school. Responsibility for the manual and computerized pupil data records including attendance details. Liaising with parents, and dealing with admissions to the school & nursery. Generally taking an active part in the life of our school.

Hours: 35hours per week, term time only, including non-pupil days.

8:30 to 4pm Mon - Fri

39 weeks per year. This may be subject to change due to the operational needs of the school if required.

Pay: Local Government Pay 2020 Scale 3 point 4-5.

Hourly rate £9.55 to £9.74 per hour, depending on experience. Paid for 44.3 weeks per year. (39 working weeks plus 4.3 weeks holiday).


Start date ASAP

St George's Infant School and Nursery is a three-form entry school serving the local community of New Town Colchester. We are a very cohesive and inclusive school and we aim to ensure that every member of our school community is equally valued.
