-37 hrs per week

-5:15am - 9.15am & 14:30pm - 18:00 (Friday to 5:30pm)

-Split shifts Monday to Friday across the infant and junior schools located on the same site

-Out of hours lettings as required (paid as overtime)

-52 weeks per year with 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

-All Annual leave must be taken during school holidays

-Actual Salary £18,426

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and caring person to work as our caretaker for the Sunnymede Infant and Junior schools. This is a highly valued and responsible position and it is essential that you can demonstrate that you:

· Pride yourself on making the premises safe and secure for pupils and staff

· Have an eye for detail, taking pride in a clean and tidy school

· Enjoy the autonomy that comes with the role, whilst still value working as a team

· Have a good working knowledge of health and safety regulations that allows you to pre-empt hazards

· Are energetic, pro-active and able to use your initiative

· Skilled in DIY to be able to make repairs, carry out general maintenance and decorating

· Can communicate effectively with staff, governors and external contractors

Duties will include caretaking, general maintenance, first-line repairs and maintenance and grounds upkeep. You will be required to lock and unlock the schools, act as primary key holder, attend occasional out of hours emergency call-outs and undertake evening and occasional weekend lettings. Relevant training will be available.
