Required from January 2020. Specific Key Stage preference to be discussed at interview.
Due to the continuing growth of our VI Form and the expansion of lower school numbers we are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic classroom practitioner to join our dedicated and already successful department. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-achieving department that will suit an applicant looking to move on to a Head of Science post in the future. Previous management experience is NOT essential but candidates must demonstrate the ability to take an active role in ensuring the highest possible standards in the Key Stage for which they are responsible. In addition to the Key Stage responsibility you will also have the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range as well as participate in a broad range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. You will enjoy working with our motivated, well-behaved pupils and with a supportive and hard-working staff in this well respected over-subscribed 11 - 18 mixed comprehensive school.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, with strong interpersonal and organisational skills. A strong classroom practitioner with high expectations and the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students.
The FitzWimarc School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
