Nurture Practitioner - Alternative Provision

(Fixed Term Contract - 1st January 2020 - 31st August 2020)

based at; East Tilbury Primary School & Nursery

Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, RM18 8SB

Pay band 4 point 18 (Actual Salary £ 14,894.75 per Annum)

8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday, 29 hours & 35 minutes per week

50 Minute Lunch break & 15 Minute Coffee break (Unpaid)

Term Time only + Inset days

We are looking to appoint a Nurture Practitioner for our Alternative Provision to work under the guidance of the head of the provision, to provide support for social, emotional and mental health needs of individuals / groups through a nurture group approach. This will include advising staff on the provision for meeting SEMH needs within the classroom environment through inclusive teaching practices.

East Tilbury Primary Annexe is an alternative provision, for pupils who have been permanently excluded or at risk of permanent exclusion due to their challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable and prepared to work closely with their colleagues to support these pupils and their families.

The candidates will preferably have relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent. They must have a good standard of English and Mathematics and basic computer skills, a good understanding of the Nurture Group approach and the theory underlying Nurture provision and ethos.

Information about the School

East Tilbury Primary School & Nursery converted to Academy Status in April 2012 as a partner in St Cleres Co-operative Academy Trust. We are a three/four form entry school in a semi-rural location, only a 5 minute walk from East Tilbury Station which is on the C2C Fenchurch - Shoeburyness Line. .
