Senior Tutor in Engineering
Salary: Up to £38,534.00 per annum
Located in Harlow
Permanent
Full Time hours available
Are you an Engineer? We're looking for you!
In 2017 Harlow College invested £11 million in our 'Harlow Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Centre' (HAMEC) from which we now deliver training to our students.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Engineering member of staff to join our growing Engineering team at Harlow College. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation by working in Further Education. Working in a vibrant and positive learning environment, you will play a key role in preparing, planning, co-ordinating, assessing and delivering both theory and practical sessions to our Engineering learners.
We are looking for engineers that can:
· Deliver across all cohorts up to Level 5.
· Preferably have a maths bias and able to deliver calculus and engineering principles, as well as other more generic units.
· Some experience with design, using CAD would be advantageous but not essential.
You must have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Engineering OR a degree (or equivalent). However, you don't need to have a qualification in teaching, just a passion for your specialism, strong communication skills and be willing to train on the job, as we will support staff to undertake a teaching or assessing qualification, if not already held.
Our full time teaching staff normally teach up to 24 hours per week during term time.
The successful candidate can expect investment in their personal and professional development as well as an excellent benefits package including 42 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an excellent Pension Scheme (Teachers' Pension Scheme)
Still unsure if this is the right role for you? Contact Tom Stokes on 01279 868178 for an informal discussion.
Closing Date: 8th September 2019
Interviews: week commencing 16th September 2019
If you are looking to work within a fast paced organisation whereby we believe all our people, both staff and students, have the potential to succeed in whatever they set their minds to then this is the role for you. This college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
