Do you have a background in retail and experience in working with learners with SEND?
The Supported Studies department at Harlow College has a unique opportunity to grow and develop our new retail outlet 'In The Making'. Our enterprise opened in November 2018 and is located in the Harvey Centre. The candidate will contribute to our vision which will include:
· Leading, running and co-ordinating effective art and design and cross-college projects that enhance and promote entrepreneurial opportunities and initiatives
· To oversee the running of the retail outlet to include: cash handling, opening and closing the premises, creating shop displays, stock production, replenishment and promotional activities.
· Build and sustain effective partnerships with voluntary organisations, local businesses and community groups.
The individual will be part of a forward looking team focused on maximising the impact for SEND learners, whilst creating a work environment at 'In The Making' where SEND learners are able to enhance their employability skills. This role requires an individual with an innovative approach and the ability to apply alternative thinking to problems to generate solutions. In addition, the individual will be required to adopt a results driven culture and to prioritise in high-pressures situations in order to deliver high quality work in a fast paced environment.
