Cook / Kitchen Supervisor Starting September 2019

The role is offered on a permanent basis over 22 hours per week, Monday- Friday, during term-time, Band 3 to Mid Point (dependant on experience) and is subject to the applicant's eligibility to work in the UK and a successful DBS clearance.

We are recruiting for a Cook/Kitchen Supervisor to work at St. Peter's Primary school. You will be in charge of the smooth running of the kitchen, working with a kitchen assistant to provide up to 80 meals a day.

You will work closely with the school and Essex CC to ensure the children receive a nutritionally balanced meal every day.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Monitor controls of food quality, presentation and service.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained at all times.
Prepare food using fresh ingredients.
Ensure all team members are working in line with current legislation at all times.
Be responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of the kitchen and facilities to include all aspects of Health and Safety.
Previous experience in purchasing and stock control is desirable.
DBS Check will be required.
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous Catering experience within a similar environment.
Food Hygiene Level 3 (or willing to take it-online)
Ability to work on your own initiative.
