Job Title: Interim Headteacher Location: Prittlewell, Essex
Contract: Interim, full-time (until Easter 2020) Salary: £59,000 to £62,000 pa
Southend YMCA Community School is an Alternative Provision, set up through the Free School system in 2013. Our mission is to provide an alternative route for our students to gain the best possible education.
Based in Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea, we have 50 students, aged 14 to 16, who have been excluded or were at the cusp of exclusion from mainstream schools. As a result, many of our students have complex SEMH needs.
The Board of Governors is seeking to appoint an Interim Headteacher to join the school, filling this role until a permanent Headteacher joins the school in April 2020.
The Governors are looking for:
An exceptional, inspirational and caring current Senior Leader with a proven track record who leads by example whilst creating a model of distinctive leadership
A dynamic and progressive individual capable of continuing to support the vision and strategic direction of the school
A true commitment to educational excellence and continual improvement
A demonstrable understanding of leading a school whose students have complex SEMH needs
An ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the management team, teachers and parents
An awareness of financial planning and budget management
An individual who will ensure the continued stability of the school, and its further progress
