We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Reader Leader to join our team of staff that are committed to supporting our pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities.Working with the English Department, the role is required to help raise the reading age and comprehension of targeted students, by planning programmes of support that meet identified needs, developing reading intervention and handwriting improvement schemes, and planning, delivering, testing an reporting on, such sessions. Will support the "brainy breakfast "club. Will also on occasion support the library assistant and ideally be able to assess students for examination access arrangements, particularly in relation to reading.
The pay band for the role is band 3 to mid (scp 6 to 11), which is £19,171 - £21,166.
The hours of work for the role will be37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4 pm (3.30 Fridays) and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total).
The actual salary for the role is £16,288.36 to £17,983.39 (under 5 years' service) or £16,582.51 to £18,308.14 (over 5 years' service).
