Learning Resource Centre Assistant (Part Time)
Band 2 to mid (Actual range £6,432 to £6,683 inc. Outer Fringe)
15 hours per week, term time only
A vacancy has arisen for a self-motivated and passionate individual to work within our well established and vibrant Learning Resource Centre. We are passionate about reading and literacy at JHS and are looking for someone who shares that enthusiasm and has the ability to engage with our young people, capture their imagination and fuel their desire to read and expand their literary knowledge.
You will work alongside our Learning Resource Centre Manager and assist them to raise the profile of the library and promote the accelerated reading programme across the school. Helping to organise and promote events, readings and book launches that will engage the students.
Previous experience working within a school environment is not a requirement; however, a love of literature in all its forms and an ability to share that enthusiasm is essential. Good IT skills are required, preferably with sound experience in Word and Excel.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a positive approach to working effectively with all members of the school community. This is a public facing role, so fluency in English is essential.
