(with the ability to teach Science as a second subject)

Are you a dynamic, innovative and inspirational teacher at the beginning of your career with the drive and talent to help young people achieve excellent results?

If so, this is a unique opportunity to join a committed and highly skilled team with a broad range of specialisms and experience. At Beauchamps High School, PE is not only part of the compulsory curriculum but also a popular option at both GCSE and BTEC. You will be working with a department of vibrant individuals who are enthusiastic about the opportunities that PE offers students, both within and outside of the curriculum, and who are dedicated in providing a range of activities for all abilities and age ranges, with a proven record of involvement and success. The school has recently developed its facilities to include a 3G pitch and has broadened the range of options at post-16 to include a Football Academy and a variety of BTEC qualifications; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in these exciting courses.

Beauchamps High School is an 'OUTSTANDING' 11-18 school, with examination results at all levels significantly above the National picture. In November 2014 OFSTED recognised the exceptional education we deliver and stated that "Teaching is outstanding. Teachers know their subjects extremely well and help students to gain knowledge quickly and then use it skilfully and confidently in all their work".

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic (ideally having a proven record of excellence across the age and ability range) and will demonstrate a commitment to raising standards. They will also be keen to make a significant contribution in assisting with, organising and delivering the extended extra-curricular program of the department.

Candidates who have experience of teaching Science, or relevant qualifications in Science would be encouraged.

In this role, you will:

  • take part in a full induction programme that will give you the time and skills to develop as a teacher.
  • be mentored by an outstanding teacher
  • gain the skills and resources to ensure all students achieve their potential

To apply, please download an application pack from the ECC vacancies website, or contact the school as above. Application is by application form only - CVs will not be accepted (refer to separate "Guidance Notes for Applicants" document).

Beauchamps High School is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday, 16 May at midday

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
