We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging qualified Full Time and permanent Teacher of French and Spanish. You will need to be an outstanding teacher with a commitment and passion for languages. The successful candidate will join a highly successful, supportive and thriving Modern Foreign Languages department staffed by two specialist language teachers.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department is a friendly team of outstanding and supportive teachers who bring energy and enthusiasm to the delivery of their subject. The right candidate will have the ambition and desire to play a significant role in the further development of the department.
All children at St Johns School have the opportunity to study French from Year 3 onwards and Spanish from Year 7. We offer GCSE in both French and Spanish, and we currently follow the Edexcel syllabus. The department organises regular trips to France and/or Spain.
What we are looking for:
• An experienced qualified teacher with an excellent subject knowledge (holding QTS or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree) to deliver both French and Spanish at KS3 and KS4 levels and to teach French to Junior pupils;
• A committed practitioner, who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning and who will expect excellence from the students;
• A person with good IT skills to use Kerboodle at KS3 level;
• A collaborative and motivated individual who will teach the subject through a variety of innovative approaches including curriculum design, teaching strategies, use of technology.
• You will not necessarily need to be a native, but experience abroad being immersed in the foreign culture would be fantastic.
